Hasanat festival to review 16 foreign films

TEHRAN – The 6th National Hasanat Short Film Festival in Isfahan will be screening a selection of 16 short films from 16 different countries in its “Panorama of World Short Films” section of the festival opening on March 5.

“A little Star” by Svetlana Andrianova (Russia), “Bear Story” by Gabriel Osorio Vargas (Chile), “Death Sails” by Dmitri Voloshin (Moldavia), “I Want It!” by Nicolas Conte (Argentina), “Jack” by Quentin Haberham (Netherlands), “Superman, Spiderman or Batman” by Tudor Giurgiu (Romania) and “Water Path” by Carlos Montoya (Colombia) are among the world shorts and animations.

In addition, eight German short films have been selected to go on screen in the “Panorama of German Short Films” category including “Ayny” by Ahmad Saleh, “In the Distance” by Florian Grolig and “The Chicken” by Una Gunjak.

Several short films produced at the Hamburg Media School will also be screened at the festival, the organizers have announced on the festival website.

The festival is established by the Hasanat Islamic Culture Publication and Promotion Foundation in Isfahan in collaboration with the Farabi Cinema Foundation. Hasanat aims to promote the culture of charity in the country.

Filmmaker Rasul Sadr-Ameli is the secretary of the festival, which will be running until March 8 in Isfahan.
